CM Revanth Reddy defends letter to Vijayan, dares him for debate

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, referring to the letter he wrote to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, launched a sharp attack and challenged him to a public debate.

He said he was ready for a discussion at any time and asked Vijayan to respond. He made the remarks while speaking to media in Thiruvananthapuram.

Revanth Reddy questioned whether Vijayan followed leaders like Jyoti Basu and Somnath Chatterjee or Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. He then alleged that Vijayan appeared to adopt the approach of Narendra Modi.

Further, he said such political methods would not be acceptable to the people of Kerala. He also accused Vijayan of projecting himself in a manner similar to Modi.

He alleged that the central government was protecting Vijayan in corruption cases. Therefore, he claimed that central agencies had not taken action despite multiple allegations.

Meanwhile, the remarks gained significance as they followed his communication to the Kerala Chief Minister. The exchange also reflected tensions within parties associated with the INDIA alliance.

At the same time, the comments brought the Congress–Left rivalry in Kerala back into focus. Revanth Reddy’s remarks sharpened the political divide between the two sides.
