Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the global VFX and virtual production hub of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios at CapitaLand International Tech Park in HITEC City.
During the event, Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government would allocate suitable land in Bharat Future City to support the company’s future expansion. He added that the move formed part of the State’s strategy to attract global media and technology companies.
The Chief Minister said the government aimed to bring more Fortune 500 companies to Hyderabad. Therefore, he expressed the expectation that Netflix would strengthen its presence in the city.
He also hoped the company would eventually establish its corporate office in Hyderabad. The new facility marks an expansion of Netflix’s production technology presence in India.
Revanth Reddy inaugurated the studio along with IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. Senior representatives from Netflix and members of the creative industry attended the programme.
Officials said Hyderabad now hosts the second-largest Eyeline Labs facility in India after Mumbai. Consequently, the city further strengthened its position in the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics ecosystem.
Revanth Reddy says Netflix studio will boost creative economy
Speaking at the event, Revanth Reddy said the arrival of Netflix represented an important step for Telangana’s growing digital and creative economy. Moreover, he said the government would extend full institutional support for the company’s expansion.
He reiterated that suitable land would be earmarked in Bharat Future City if Netflix decided to expand further. In addition, he expressed hope that the company would consider relocating its corporate office to Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister said Hyderabad had long served as a major centre for the Indian film industry. However, he noted that the city now aimed to attract global creative industries.
He referred to the evolution of cinema technology over the decades. For instance, the industry moved from black-and-white films to Technicolor, Eastman Color and modern digital production systems.
According to Revanth Reddy, Hyderabad now seeks to attract global media production ecosystems. Therefore, the city aims to grow beyond its traditional role in regional cinema.
He also reiterated the government’s goal of transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047. The strategy relies on innovation, strategic investments and global partnerships.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the global growth of Netflix. He noted that the company evolved from a DVD rental service into one of the world’s largest OTT streaming platforms.
Revanth Reddy said the new Eyeline facility would help nurture local creative talent. At the same time, it would showcase Telangana’s culture and creative potential to global audiences.
The event was attended by Eyeline Studios Chief Executive Officer Jeff Shapiro and Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Sanjay Jaju. Actor and producer Rana Daggubati and Telangana Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju were also present.
