Revanth Reddy inaugurates rejuvenated Nalla Cheruvu at Kukatpally

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the rejuvenated Nalla Cheruvu at Kukatpally in the Malkajgiri Parliamentary Constituency on Monday.

Addressing a gathering, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over visiting Kukatpally after assuming office. He said the government would support development across all Assembly constituencies in the parliamentary segment.

He added that the government would allocate development funds irrespective of political affiliations. Development and welfare, he said, remain the government’s primary agenda.

The Chief Minister recalled that critics raised several allegations when the government launched lake restoration works. However, he chose to continue the work instead of responding to criticism.

Now residents expressed happiness after the development of Nalla Cheruvu. Therefore, he said earlier criticism now felt like a blessing.

He clarified that the government does not aim to trouble the poor or demolish houses unnecessarily. Instead, the government wants to ensure that residents do not suffer during heavy rains.

He advised people who encroached on lakes and drainage channels to come forward voluntarily. The government, he said, stands ready to ensure justice and fair solutions.

Nalla Cheruvu rejuvenation highlights lake restoration push

The Chief Minister announced plans to create opportunities for women to set up stalls near rejuvenated lakes. These initiatives will support livelihood activities for women.

He also announced plans to develop recreational spaces and play areas for children along lake bunds. Such facilities will transform restored lakes into community spaces.

The Chief Minister stressed the need to restore lakes across Hyderabad. Protecting natural resources, he said, must remain a priority for urban planning.

He pointed out that many metropolitan cities face serious urban challenges. Therefore Hyderabad must protect its ecological balance and water bodies.

The Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to rejuvenate the Musi River. The government will also restore lakes located within the Core Urban Region.

Officials will remove encroachments on drainage channels. The government will also take up road expansion works to build a well-planned city.

The Chief Minister assured citizens that the government would allocate adequate funds for infrastructure and civic projects. However, he urged the public to cooperate with development initiatives.

He warned that delays in development today could result in lost opportunities tomorrow. Therefore public cooperation remains essential.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the rejuvenated lake restored by Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency. On the occasion he offered prayers to Goddess Gangamma and presented silk cloth, turmeric and kumkum.

He also visited the Indira Mahila Shakti stalls near the lake and interacted with women participants.

Among those present were the Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MLAs Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Arikepudi Gandhi and Ramchander Naik, MLC Naveen Kumar, Malkajgiri District Collector Manu Choudhary, HYDRAA Commissioner A. V. Ranganath and Cyberabad Police Commissioner G. Srijana along with other officials.
