Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram, saying Babu Jagjivan Ram ideals continue to inspire the nation.
He paid the tribute on the eve of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s 119th birth anniversary. He described the leader’s life as a lasting example of commitment to public service and social equality.
The Chief Minister highlighted Babu Jagjivan Ram’s journey from poverty to national leadership. He said the leader showed determination and dedication throughout his public life. He also recalled his role in India’s freedom struggle and his service in the cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Reddy said Babu Jagjivan Ram devoted his life to the upliftment of marginalised communities. He added that the leader worked for Dalits and labourers and fought caste discrimination and untouchability.

The Chief Minister said Telangana’s governance reflects Babu Jagjivan Ram principles. Revanth stated that the government continues to prioritise inclusive development and welfare.
He pointed to measures such as caste census, enhancement of BC reservations and SC categorisation. He said these initiatives align with the values upheld by Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Furthermore, Reddy said the government remains committed to ensuring equitable growth across all sections of society. He added that these efforts aim to strengthen social justice in the state.
He concluded that Babu Jagjivan Ram social justice ideals continue to guide Telangana’s governance and long-term vision.
