CM Revanth orders Tirumala-style regulations for Telangana temples

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy ordered officials to introduce Tirumala-style regulations across all temples in Telangana on Saturday. He directed authorities to prioritise spirituality and preserve temple sanctity.

He said officials must prohibit political meetings, flag hoisting and demonstrations within temple premises. Moreover, he stressed that religious spaces must remain free from political activity.

The Chief Minister issued the directions during a high-level review of the development of the Basara Gnana Saraswathi Temple. Officials from the Endowments Department presented a master plan for the temple’s expansion.

They informed him that the project would cost about Rs 225 crore. In response, he suggested modifications to the plan. He also instructed officials to execute development works strictly in line with temple rituals and traditions.

Tirumala-style regulations guide temple development plans

Revanth Reddy said the Tirumala-style regulations should guide all development activities. He emphasised that authorities must maintain sanctity during construction works.

He directed officials to build spacious roads to handle the rising number of devotees. In addition, he asked them to plan infrastructure for future demand.

He also stressed the need for greenery within temple premises. He said authorities should develop plantations so that the area is filled with large trees over time.

Furthermore, he called for the establishment of a healthcare centre at the temple. He said the facility should have sufficient doctors and staff. This, he noted, would support devotees during major events like Godavari Pushkaralu.

Tirumala-style regulations extend to traffic and facilities

The Chief Minister said the Tirumala-style regulations must also address traffic management. He ordered that even VIP vehicles should remain outside temple premises.

He said authorities should allow movement inside only through electric vehicles. Therefore, he instructed officials to prepare and implement plans immediately.

He also directed installation of solar rooftop systems at parking areas. These steps, he said, would improve sustainability and reduce congestion.

Revanth Reddy warned officials to maintain high quality in all development works. He said strict action would follow if standards were not met.

Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, Adviser Sudarshan Reddy, MP Vem Narender Reddy and Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao attended the meeting. Senior officials from the Endowments Department were also present.
