Revanth hailed Sahitya Akademi Award win for Sidha Reddy

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed profound delight after Telangana poet and writer Nandini Sidha Reddy received the Sahitya Akademi Award for 2025.

He extended his best wishes to Sidha Reddy and praised him as a renowned Telangana writer and a great humanist. He said the writer had portrayed the plight of mankind and the fragmentation of relationships during the Covid pandemic in “Animesha,” a compilation of poems.

Moreover, the Chief Minister said the Sahitya Akademi Award recognised a writer who had made an important literary contribution to Telangana. He described Sidha Reddy as one of the leading literary figures in modern Telangana.

In a statement issued in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said Sidha Reddy’s work had captured human suffering during the pandemic. He said “Animesha” had reflected how relationships fractured in that period.

He also underlined the writer’s humanist outlook. According to the Chief Minister, Sidha Reddy had used poetry to document pain, social strain and the emotional toll of the Covid years.

As a result, the Sahitya Akademi Award announcement drew praise from the state leadership. Revanth Reddy linked the honour to the wider value of Sidha Reddy’s writing and his standing in Telugu literature.

Revanth Reddy also praised Sidha Reddy for his contribution during the Telangana movement. He said the writer had spread the spirit of the struggle through his writings.

In addition, the Chief Minister said Sidha Reddy had remained at the forefront among litterateurs who enriched modern Telangana literature. He noted that the writer had done so through numerous poetry collections and other writings.

Therefore, Revanth Reddy’s message combined congratulations with recognition of a long literary journey. He said Sidha Reddy’s body of work had strengthened Telangana’s literary space and had supported the cultural voice of the movement.
