Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy on Friday denied rumours about an Ranga Reddy LPG shortage and assured residents that adequate gas stocks were available in the district.
In a statement, the collector said reports claiming a shortage of LPG cylinders in the state were false. He urged the public not to panic or believe rumours circulating on social media and other platforms.
The collector clarified that the alleged shortage was being linked to the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. However, he said the conflict had not affected LPG supply in the district.
He said the existing system of gas booking and delivery would continue without any disruption. Consumers who booked cylinders would receive their supply in the same manner as before.
Ranga Reddy LPG shortage rumours dismissed by officials
Narayana Reddy said the district currently had sufficient LPG stocks to meet domestic demand. Therefore, households using LPG cylinders for cooking would not face any shortage.
He also assured that institutions would continue receiving uninterrupted supply. Hospitals, educational institution hostels, orphanages and old-age homes would receive gas cylinders without difficulty.
The collector said authorities were closely monitoring the situation to ensure smooth distribution of LPG cylinders. As a result, consumers would not experience delays in supply.
He appealed to residents not to book cylinders unnecessarily due to rumours. Instead, consumers should follow the normal booking cycle.
Officials said the Ranga Reddy LPG shortage claims had no basis and urged people not to spread misinformation. They advised residents to rely only on official information issued by the district administration.
