Ramchander Rao pays tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram, attacks Congress

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram and criticised the Congress government, alleging failure to implement key promises in the state.

He offered floral tributes to Jagjivan Ram’s portrait on his birth anniversary. Later, he told media persons that the leader’s contribution to nation-building and social justice remained exemplary. He said the occasion honoured Jagjivan Ram’s lifelong service as a freedom fighter and reformer.

Rao said the BJP was conducting training programmes across Telangana to strengthen ideological awareness among party workers. He stated that the programmes were completed in over 600 of nearly 900 mandals. He added that the remaining sessions would conclude soon.

He accused the Congress government of failing to deliver on its “6 Guarantees” and “420 promises.” He said farm loan waivers and welfare commitments remained unfulfilled. He alleged that the government misled the public while remaining in power.

Babu Jagjivan Ram tributes amid political criticism

Rao said the Babu Jagjivan Ram tributes also served as a reminder of governance rooted in accountability. He criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for claiming during election campaigning that all promises were being implemented in Telangana.

He alleged that Congress used Telangana’s public funds for political activities in other states, including Bihar and Kerala. He claimed the party treated Telangana as a financial resource for elections elsewhere.

Rao further alleged that corruption increased under the Congress government. He said authorities demolished the houses of the poor and the properties of small businesses. He added that no section of society remained satisfied with governance.

He said India remained stable despite global tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He dismissed rumours about fuel and gas shortages, stating that supplies remained adequate.

Rao demanded action against those spreading misinformation about shortages and lockdowns. He urged the state government to register cases against individuals creating panic among the public.

He said the BJP would contest elections independently, from the GHMC to the Assembly polls. He expressed confidence that the party would win and form the next government in Telangana. He added that the BJP would continue its struggle until the Congress fulfilled its promises.
