Rain alert for Telangana for next three days

Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department issued a rain alert Telangana for the next three days, forecasting light to moderate rainfall in several districts.

Officials said a trough has formed from South Interior Karnataka to Marathwada at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level. In addition, another trough extends from Gangetic West Bengal to the Andhra coast over Odisha at the same altitude.

However, the trough associated with the earlier low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened. Despite this, weather systems continue to influence conditions across the state. Therefore, authorities expect intermittent rainfall activity over multiple regions.

Light to moderate rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely at isolated places on Monday and Tuesday. Similar weather conditions are expected on Wednesday as well. The rain alert Telangana remains in effect during this period.

Rain alert for Telangana as troughs influence weather

Meteorological officials said the interacting trough systems are responsible for the current instability in the atmosphere. As a result, isolated thunderstorms and lightning may occur in different districts.

They advised residents to exercise caution during thunderstorms and avoid open areas during lightning activity. In addition, farmers were urged to monitor local forecasts and take necessary precautions.

The department said it will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates if weather conditions intensify.
