Hyderabad: Weather officials issued a rain alert for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, warning of rainfall across several districts over the next few days.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Department said Telangana will receive rains for six days. It expects showers from today until March 21. Districts such as Nizamabad, Medak, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Adilabad will see rainfall. As a result, daytime heat will ease across the state.
Rain alert covers multiple districts across two states
In Andhra Pradesh, the department warned of thunderstorms and lightning in several areas. A trough and southwesterly winds will drive the weather activity.
Heavy rain with lightning will hit Manyam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain will occur in Polavaram, Anakapalli, Alluri, East Godavari and West Godavari.
Rain will also spread to Sri Sathya Sai, Nandyal, Anantapur and Kurnool districts. In addition, NTR, Guntur, Eluru, Krishna, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Konaseema will receive scattered showers.
Officials urged residents to stay alert. They warned people in vulnerable areas to watch for lightning and sudden downpours over the next few days.
