Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department issued a rain alert for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, warning of fresh rainfall activity in both states.
Officials said a low-pressure area may form over the south Bay of Bengal on Monday. As a result, parts of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka may receive rainfall first. Subsequently, the system may influence weather conditions in the Telugu states.
The department indicated that a surface circulation may develop after February 19 and intensify into another low-pressure system. Therefore, some districts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana may experience scattered to moderate rains.
Rain alert as two low-pressure systems may form
Officials expect Telangana to receive rainfall for nearly four days from February 25 to 28. Meanwhile, forecasts point to the formation of two low-pressure systems during this period.
Cold conditions continue to recede across both states. Temperatures are rising steadily, especially during the day. Although evenings remain slightly cool, the afternoon heat has intensified in several districts.
In some areas, temperatures have crossed 30 degrees Celsius. Moreover, weather experts expect a sharper rise in heat from the first week of March.
