Hyderabad: National BC Welfare Association president and Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah on Monday demanded that the Telangana government immediately release ₹8,500 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues. He joined a protest by BC student groups outside the Telangana State Council of Higher Education office at Masab Tank.

Hundreds of students staged a sit-in on the road, demanding payment of dues. Addressing the gathering, Krishnaiah said the Congress government completed 22 months in office without releasing even a single rupee for fee reimbursement.
He accused the government of neglecting education while allocating thousands of crores to contractors. He warned that if dues are not cleared, the movement will intensify. “We will block MLAs and ministers and expose corruption soon,” he said.
BC national convenor Bujji Krishna, Vemula Ramakrishna, Rajender Ramakoti, Anantayya, Bhaskar Balaram and other leaders participated in the protest.
