Hyderabad: A transgender awareness campaign Hyderabad initiative began on April 1, with the Queerbandhu Parents Association (QBPA) launching a programme to support transgender persons and address social challenges faced by them.
The association said it aimed to raise awareness about issues affecting transgender individuals and their families. It added that the campaign would focus on education, social acceptance, and access to basic rights.
QBPA stated that it would work with multiple stakeholders, including parents, community members, and support groups. The initiative will also involve coordination with institutions such as mental health organisations and social welfare bodies.
