Pub raid drug case: seven held in Kondapur operation

Hyderabad: Police apprehended seven individuals for drug consumption during a late-night raid at a pub in Kondapur on April 2–3, following intelligence inputs about substance use at a private event.

The EAGLE team of the Telangana State Task Force, along with Cyberabad Narcotics Police and Gachibowli Police, conducted the operation at Quake Arena Pub. Officials acted on specific inputs about drug use during a party featuring an international DJ.

Authorities formed six teams and carried out a surprise raid without disrupting the event. They screened 64 suspected individuals during the operation.

Police tested selected individuals using ABONN urine drug test kits. Seven persons tested positive for substances including ganja (THC), benzodiazepines, and methamphetamine.

Officials said the individuals admitted to drug consumption during questioning. Police documented their details and initiated further legal procedures.

A case was registered at Gachibowli Police Station under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigation into the case is ongoing.

Pub raid drug case: police plan de-addiction measures

Police said they would inform the parents or guardians of those involved. They also stated that the individuals would be guided towards de-addiction programmes.

Officials clarified that foreign artist Alexander from Spain and DJ Kayvee tested negative during screening.

The EAGLE (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) team urged youth and students to avoid drugs. It warned that substance abuse could lead to crime and family distress.
