President appoints Shiv Pratap Shukla as Telangana Governor

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu ordered a sweeping reshuffle of governors across several states and Union Territories, appointing Shiv Pratap Shukla as the new Telangana Governor and approving a series of transfers.

At the same time, the President accepted the resignation of C. V. Ananda Bose as governor of West Bengal. Consequently, Rashtrapati Bhavan issued an official statement confirming the changes and outlining fresh appointments across several states.

Reshuffle installs new Telangana Governor

Under the presidential orders, Shiv Pratap Shukla moved from his position as governor of Himachal Pradesh and will now assume office as Telangana Governor. The decision formed part of a broader restructuring of gubernatorial posts across the country.

Meanwhile, Jishnu Dev Varma, who had served as Telangana Governor, shifted to take charge as governor of Maharashtra.

At the same time, R. N. Ravi moved from his role as governor of Tamil Nadu and will assume office as governor of West Bengal following the vacancy there.

Further, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, currently governor of Kerala, will additionally handle the responsibilities of Tamil Nadu governor.

In another key appointment, retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain will assume charge as governor of Bihar.

The reshuffle also covered Union Territory leadership. Taranjit Singh Sandhu will take charge as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Meanwhile, Vinai Kumar Saxena will move from Delhi to serve as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Consequently, Kavinder Gupta will take charge as governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Additionally, Nand Kishore Yadav will assume office as governor of Nagaland.

Rashtrapati Bhavan stated that the appointments will take effect from the dates the respective appointees assume charge.
