Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika to bring positive changes in Hyderabad: Karnan

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan said the State government’s Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika 99-day programme would bring significant improvements to civic services and infrastructure across Hyderabad.

He said the initiative would deliver positive changes through coordinated efforts by government departments and active public participation. As a result, authorities expect the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme to improve the quality of life for residents across the city.

On Friday, Karnan conducted a field inspection of the under-construction Shastripuram Road Over Bridge in Attapur Circle of the Rajendranagar Zone.

During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the project. He directed officials to speed up construction of the approach roads and complete pending works.

He asked officials to finish the works quickly so authorities can prepare the bridge for inauguration at the earliest.

The Commissioner also inspected sanitation measures in the area. In addition, he reviewed the door-to-door waste collection system being implemented by the civic body.

He instructed Swachh auto drivers to ensure complete household waste collection. Moreover, he stressed that garbage should not remain on roads or in public spaces.

Later, Karnan inspected preparations at Eco Hill Park near Kotwal Guda. The park is scheduled for inauguration by the Chief Minister shortly.

Speaking during the inspection, he said the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme would strengthen the city’s solid waste management system.

Under the initiative, GHMC will ensure 100 percent door-to-door waste collection across Greater Hyderabad.

Officials will also focus on eliminating garbage vulnerable points in different parts of the city.

Whenever authorities identify garbage accumulation points, sanitation teams clear the waste quickly. They also ensure that the waste reaches processing units before 9 AM every day.

Karnan said the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme will adopt a comprehensive multi-departmental approach.

Besides sanitation, the initiative will cover development of parks and restoration of lakes. It will also include town planning measures and improvement of property tax compliance.

Officials will also implement road safety measures across the city.

In addition, Self-Help Groups will play an active role in the implementation of the programme.
