Seethakka launches Poshan Pakhwada programme in Mulugu

Hyderabad: Minister Danasari Anasuya, known as Seethakka, launched a Poshan Pakhwada programme to promote nutrition awareness and discourage mobile phone use among children. On this occasion, she said the Poshan Pakhwada programme aims to improve dietary habits and health outcomes.

She flagged off a rally on Saturday at the “I Love You Mulugu” arch in the district headquarters. The ICDS department organised the event as part of the Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika 99-day programme.

Seethakka said the government scheduled awareness drives from April 9 to April 23. She stated that poor nutrition had led to rising health issues among children. Moreover, she added that pregnant women and lactating mothers also faced complications due to inadequate diets.

The minister said food and drinking water often lacked essential nutrients. Further, she expressed concern over the growing consumption of junk food and outside items. As a result, she said, people faced the risk of serious diseases.

She said the State government had taken steps to supply nutritious food through ICDS. In addition, she noted that the “Amma Mata Anganwadi Bata” initiative had already created awareness among communities.

Meanwhile, Seethakka urged people to choose food with proper nutritional value. She also stressed the need to drink clean and safe water. Finally, ICDS District Officer Premalatha and other officials attended the programme.
