PATNA: In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message from Madhubani, Bihar, on Thursday, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice with a punishment beyond imagination. He declared that the time had come to “wipe out the culprits of Pahalgam from the face of the earth.”
Addressing a gathering during a Panchayati Raj programme, Modi paid tribute to the victims, acknowledging the profound grief of families who lost sons, brothers, or spouses in the attack. He emphasised the national unity in mourning, noting that the victims represented diverse regions and languages—from Bengali and Kannada speakers to Gujaratis and sons of Bihar—yet the nation’s outrage was collective and unwavering.
In a message intended for the international community, Modi said in English from the dais, “We will chase them to the ends of the earth. The soul of India will never break under terrorism. Justice will be served.” He further asserted that every effort would be made to ensure justice, with the entire nation standing united in this resolve.
“I thank the people and leaders of various countries who have stood with us during this time,” he added, expressing appreciation for the global support India has received following the attack.
Referring to the attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Modi described it as a heinous act that has shaken the entire country. He reassured the nation that the government was working to ensure the swift recovery of those injured in the attack and reiterated that those responsible, including their enablers, would face punishment that surpasses all expectations.
Before beginning his main address, the Prime Minister called for a moment of tribute. “I request everyone to remain seated and silently offer homage to the families we lost on April 22,” he said, pausing to pay respect to the victims before continuing with the rest of the programme.
