Phone tapping probe: SIT summons ex-SIB chief again

Hyderabad: The phone tapping probe being led by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified, with former Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) chief Prabhakar Rao summoned again for questioning on July 14. The SIT plans to question him further based on statements from witnesses recorded during the investigation.

Earlier, SIT officials had seized Prabhakar Rao’s laptop and mobile phone, both of which were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The next round of questioning will be based on the FSL’s findings.

The phone tapping probe has seen a series of depositions, and SIT officials are relying on forensic and testimonial evidence to build their case.
