Permanent buildings for gram panchayats within three years: Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to build permanent gram panchayat buildings in all villages that currently lack them within the next three years.

He asked the Panchayat Raj department to prepare detailed plans and start implementation across the state. He issued the instructions during a pre-budget review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Tuesday.

Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed departmental progress with Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Gaddam Vivek. During the meeting, he suggested constructing Tahsildar and MPDO offices in the same premises wherever government land is available.

The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed the need to strengthen welfare measures for children in Anganwadi centres. He said the centres must provide nutritious food that supports brain development. He also recommended better teaching methods to support early learning among young children.

Bhatti Vikramarka expressed concern about children being used for begging in some urban areas. He said people often carry infants on roads while begging. These children face harsh sunlight and rain.

He directed officials to move such children to Shishu Vihar centres and ensure their safety and welfare.

Authorities must also build modern kitchens in Shishu Vihar centres to improve facilities for children.

The Deputy Chief Minister also asked officials to introduce employment-oriented courses in Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs). He urged officials to contact companies that signed MoUs during the Global Summit. These companies can help design courses based on industry needs.

He added that ATC courses should reflect the needs of industries under the CURE, PURE and RARE policy frameworks. Officials should also link these programmes with the Skill University to improve employment opportunities for youth.

On mining activities in agency areas, Bhatti Vikramarka said only tribal agencies should carry out sand mining. He asked the Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) to support tribal communities so they can grow stronger economically and become entrepreneurs.

The Deputy Chief Minister also asked officials to prepare plans to strengthen the tourism sector. He suggested developing tiger zones such as Kawal and Srisailam. He also recommended promoting eco-tourism and temple tourism to attract more visitors to the state.
