Hyderabad: Peddatanda axe attack left a man critically injured after he was assaulted with a weapon in A Konduru mandal of NTR district.
The victim, Jamalayya from Cheemalapadu, suffered severe head injuries after Sitaram allegedly attacked him with an axe. The incident occurred in Peddatanda village.
Locals found Jamalayya lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to the government hospital in Vijayawada. Doctors said his condition remained critical.
Peddatanda axe attack accused surrenders at police station
Following the assault, the accused Sitaram went directly to a police station and surrendered. Police registered a case and took him into custody.
Preliminary investigation indicated that an alleged extramarital relationship led to the axe attack. However, police were also examining angles of prior enmity and family disputes.
Officials said further details would emerge after questioning the accused. The investigation into the incident was ongoing.
