Pahadishareef illegal liquor sale busted by police

Hyderabad: Police busted a Pahadishareef illegal liquor sale case on Saturday and arrested one person for storing and selling liquor without permission. Officials said the Pahadishareef illegal liquor sale involved the illegal stocking of multiple liquor bottles for profit within police limits.

According to police, the case was registered as Crime No. 189/2026 under Section 34(A) of the Telangana Excise Act. The operation followed specific information received by the police team.

Pahadishareef illegal liquor sale uncovered in raid

A police team led by Sub-Inspector V. Laxmaiah conducted a raid at Subhash Kirana Shop. The shop is located opposite Akbar Function Hall in Pahadishareef. During the operation, police found a man identified as Kaliwala Naresh, aged 50, allegedly storing and selling liquor illegally.

Police conducted the search in the presence of mediators. During the inspection, officers seized 12 bottles of Good Prestige Whisky (180 ml) and 20 bottles of Officer’s Choice Whisky (90 ml). In addition, they recovered 15 Indian-made foreign liquor bottles of 90 ml each. In total, police seized 47 bottles, amounting to 7.2 litres.

Investigators said the accused had been procuring liquor from authorised wine shops. However, he allegedly sold the stock at higher prices to earn illegal profits.

Police took the accused into custody following the raid. They secured the seized liquor under a panchanama. Subsequently, officials sent samples for chemical analysis as part of the investigation.

Officials said enforcement teams would continue such drives. They added that strict action would be taken against illegal sale and transportation of liquor in the area.
