Paddy bonus delivers ₹25,000 benefit to farmers: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the paddy bonus farmers received delivered an additional benefit of about ₹25,000 each, replacing the need for Rythu Bharosa support.

He said the government recognised farmers’ hard work by providing a bonus of ₹500 per quintal for fine paddy. The amount was deposited directly into farmers’ bank accounts.

Bhatti Vikramarka stated that under Rythu Bharosa, the government credited ₹9,000 crore into farmers’ accounts within nine days. He said the scale and speed of the transfer demonstrated the administration’s commitment.

Moreover, he said the paddy bonus farmers scheme ensured direct financial gains and improved farm incomes across the state.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the paddy bonus farmers initiative was designed to strengthen agricultural households. He stressed that the direct transfer model ensured transparency and timely payments.

He also highlighted welfare measures for women through Self-Help Groups. According to him, the government deposited over ₹20,000 crore annually as interest-free loans.

So far, ₹57,000 crore had been credited to women’s groups. He said the policy aimed to strengthen economic independence.

Furthermore, he said when women prosper, families and the state progress. He linked the success of welfare schemes to broader economic growth.

Paddy bonus farmers policy contrasted with past governance

Bhatti Vikramarka criticised BRS leaders and said people were aware of their approach towards women. He said K.T. Rama Rao spoke without proper understanding.

He added that if the previous leadership had prioritised women, it would have ensured adequate cabinet representation. He also reaffirmed that the government aimed to create one crore women millionaires.

In addition, he criticised the previous government for failing to deliver double-bedroom houses despite long-standing promises. He said those commitments remained unfulfilled over ten years.

By contrast, he said the present government sanctioned ₹5 lakh per house and began construction. In the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses were taken up, with 3,500 units per constituency.

The government allocated ₹22,500 crore in a single tranche for Indiramma housing, which he described as a record.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the administration was implementing six electoral guarantees. He added that earlier promises such as one job per household, a Dalit Chief Minister, and land for the landless poor were not fulfilled earlier.
