Hyderabad: India’s biggest oil companies have come together to clear the air: there’s no fuel shortage, and the rumors making the rounds online simply aren’t true.
On Friday, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum all released statements urging people not to panic. They said fuel supplies — petrol, diesel, and LPG — are steady across the country.
The false claims started gaining traction on social media, sparked in part by the growing tension between India and Pakistan. But the companies made it clear: there’s no reason to rush to the pumps.
“We’ve got plenty of fuel, and deliveries are happening without any hiccups,” the companies said. The long lines spotted at some petrol stations? They’re being blamed on fear-driven behavior, not actual shortages.
The oil firms are asking everyone to avoid stockpiling and to stay calm. Crowds at pumps, they warned, could slow down service and create unnecessary hassle.
Even with current geopolitical jitters, they reassured the public that fuel supplies remain solid — and they’re fully ready to keep the country running without disruption.
