Hyderabad: The nursing officer recruitment process in Telangana reached a key stage on Wednesday with the Telangana Medical Health Services Recruitment Board releasing the first provisional merit list for 2,322 Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse) posts.
The board uploaded details of all 40,423 candidates who appeared for the computer-based test, including their marks, on its official website. Officials described the release of the provisional list as a major milestone in the recruitment process.
Candidates may submit objections to the provisional merit list until 5 PM on December 27. After scrutinising the objections, the board will issue a second provisional list.
Subsequently, the board will call eligible candidates for certificate verification in a 1:1.5 ratio. After completing verification, officials will release the final selection list for the nursing officer recruitment.
Nursing officer recruitment to strengthen health workforce
Officials said the selected 2,322 nursing officers were likely to join service in January 2026. They said the recruitment would significantly strengthen staffing levels in government hospitals across the State.
The officials added that the department had already recruited 1,260 laboratory technicians. Over the past two years, authorities filled more than 11,000 posts in the health department. Recruitment is currently underway for another 5,000 posts.
These include 1,600 specialist doctor posts under the CAS Specialist category, more than 600 assistant professor posts, around 700 pharmacist posts and nearly 2,000 multi-purpose female health assistant posts. Doctors said these appointments would largely resolve the staffing shortage in government hospitals.
