Hyderabad: An accident early Thursday left two people dead and 15 others injured after a vehicle carrying a wedding party overturned near Kondapur bypass in Nirmal district.
The accident occurred in the early hours under Nirmal Rural mandal. A vehicle transporting relatives to a wedding lost control and overturned on the road.
According to preliminary information, a total of 17 people were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The victims belonged to Sonpalli village in Ichoda mandal of Nirmal district. They had started their journey in a DCM van to attend a wedding ceremony in Armur of Nizamabad district.
Tyre burst triggers accident near Kondapur bypass
However, the vehicle suffered a tyre burst as it approached the Kondapur bypass. Consequently, the driver lost control of the van.
The van then overturned and rolled on the road before falling to the side. As a result, two persons died on the spot while several others suffered serious injuries in the accident.
Meanwhile, local residents informed the police soon after the crash. Police teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Nirmal Government Hospital.
Doctors said three of the injured remained in critical condition. Police registered a case based on a complaint from family members and began an investigation into the accident.
