Hyderabad: The Information and Public Relations Department invited applications for news channel accreditation from Hyderabad-based studios and district-level broadcasters, with the deadline set for the 17th of this month.
Commissioner Chekka Priyanka said eligible journalists from cable news channels must apply immediately for news channel accreditation at both state and district levels. She added that timely submission remains essential for consideration.
Officials said channels operating from Hyderabad studios and broadcasting at local or district levels can apply for dual accreditation. Meanwhile, channels based in districts can submit applications within their respective jurisdictions.
News channel accreditation open for state and district levels
Applicants must provide key details, including the channel name and studio address. In addition, they must submit supporting documents such as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting certificate, labour licence, and agreements with multi-system operators.
Authorities said the department would review applications and issue news accreditation cards to eligible channels at both levels. Therefore, officials urged applicants to complete documentation without delay.
The department said the initiative aims to streamline accreditation and ensure proper recognition of working journalists across the state. It added that the process would strengthen institutional verification and media accountability.
