Hyderabad: Narayanguda police arrested an interstate house burglary offender involved in multiple daytime thefts across Hyderabad, recovering links to several recent cases.

Narayanguda police interstate burglar arrest involved Hafijul Sekh, 37, a saree designer from South 24 Parganas in West Bengal. Police said he targeted locked houses during the day and broke open locks to steal gold ornaments and cash.

The accused committed burglaries on March 30, 2026, in Narayanguda limits. He allegedly stole valuables worth around Rs. 2 lakh from two houses. Complaints were lodged by residents Mahveen Fatima and Yogendra Mukhiya, following which cases were registered and investigated.

Police said the accused followed a consistent method. He identified locked houses in residential areas and carried out thefts in broad daylight to avoid suspicion.

Narayanguda police interstate burglar arrest revealed the accused’s involvement in at least six cases across Telangana. These include two cases in Narayanguda, three in Kukatpally under Cyberabad limits, and one in Sanathnagar.

Police said he also had a history of property offences in Delhi and Kolkata and had previously been jailed.

The accused was apprehended near Secunderabad Railway Station on April 6, 2026, at around 5:30 pm. పోలీసులు said he had returned to Hyderabad to commit another offence. The arrest followed CCTV analysis and technical tracking by the investigation team.

During interrogation, he confessed to all six house burglary cases. Police confirmed that he carried out the offences using similar techniques across locations.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACP Sultan Bazar Division M. Mattaiah. SHO Narayanguda M. Saideshwar, Inspector B. Abhilash, and DSI Ch. Nagaraju, along with the crime team, played a key role in tracking and arresting the accused.

Senior officials, including the DCP of Khairatabad Zone, appreciated the team and announced rewards for their efforts.

Police said further investigation is ongoing to identify additional offences and recover stolen property.
