Nadargul land grab allegations against Congress leaders

Hyderabad: T. Harish Rao alleged that Congress-linked individuals were behind a Nadargul land grab involving 373 acres of government land valued at nearly ₹7,000 crore in Rangareddy district.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, he said the land in Survey No. 613 (new Survey No. 119) was being targeted by politically connected companies. He claimed the Nadargul land grab was proceeding despite High Court rulings declaring the land as government property.

He alleged that poor farmers were being prevented from accessing the land. According to him, they were facing attacks and intimidation. He demanded immediate government intervention. He also warned that BRS leaders would visit the site if authorities failed to act by Monday morning.

Rao further said that since the Congress assumed power, lands belonging to Dalits, weaker sections, and poor farmers were being systematically targeted. He added that such actions were being carried out either in the name of industrial development or through direct encroachment.

Farmers cite pressure amid Nadargul land grab

He cited cases of women farmers such as Kausalya and Mamatha. He said they had cultivated the land for over 40 years. However, they were now allegedly being forced to vacate with compensation offers ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.

He alleged that borewells and fencing were damaged. He also claimed that private musclemen threatened women farmers while police remained passive. He said this reflected a broader pattern in the Nadargul land grab.

Rao criticised the government’s response. He said authorities who act swiftly against small encroachments were silent in this case. He questioned Anumula Revanth Reddy over the alleged inaction. He asked why the government failed to protect public land despite repeated claims of safeguarding lakes and government properties.

He maintained that during the ten-year BRS rule, such lands were protected. He alleged that the situation changed soon after the Congress came to power. He concluded that the alleged scam could not have occurred without high-level political support.
