Murder in Suraram: Man stabbed to death over alleged illicit affair

Hyderabad: A shocking murder unfolded in Suraram on Friday night when a 27-year-old man was stabbed to death following a heated argument over alleged illicit relations.

According to police reports, Syed Danish, who hailed from Jagathgiri Gutta, suspected his 30-year-old friend Bilal of having an illicit relationship with his mother.

They had arguments over this issue several times. Despite Danish’s repeated warnings, Bilal allegedly carried on with his behaviour which eventually pushed Danish to plot a sinister plan.

On Friday night, Danish invited Bilal for drinks at a bar near Katta Maisamma Lake in Suraram. After they’d had a few drinks, they moved to Gajularamaram Lake to continue drinking. That’s where, while Bilal stepped aside to relieve himself, Danish tried to stab him from behind.

But a quick-witted taxi driver named Aslam, who was at the scene, sensed trouble and quickly alerted Bilal. Reacting fast, Bilal managed to wrestle the knife away from Danish and, in the heat of the moment, stabbed him multiple times. Danish died on the spot.

Police sources said the motive behind the attack was Danish’s suspicion about Bilal’s alleged affair with his mother. The Suraram police have moved Danish’s body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem.

Inspector Bharat Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s family. An investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events.
