Hyderabad: A murder came to light in Patancheru’s Indresham after attackers killed a couple working at a construction site during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Unidentified assailants attacked the victims while they slept and used sharp weapons to kill them.
Police identified the victims as Somla Dasarath (50) and Manyamma (46), natives of Dongachintha Thanda in Gudur mandal of Mahabubnagar district.
Murder at construction site shocks Indresham residents
The couple had migrated to Indresham under Patancheru limits in search of livelihood and worked at the site.
They lived in a hut near the construction area.
The murder in a residential locality created panic among residents.
Locals noticed the incident and alerted police.
Police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the government hospital in Patancheru for postmortem.
Officials deployed the clues team, forensic staff and dog squad to collect evidence.
They are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused.
Police registered a case and began investigation into the murder.
