Hyderabad: MLC K. Kavitha accused the Congress government of bypassing Backward Classes and Scheduled Tribes in appointments to the Right to Information Commission, demanding that pending vacancies be filled as per population share.
Continuing her campaign under the Telangana Jagruti platform, Kavitha fired off fresh questions at the state government on social media platform X. She pointed out that none of the current RTI commissioners including the Chief Commissioner and four members belong to BC or ST communities.
She further alleged that the proposal to appoint three more commissioners also excluded BC and ST candidates. Kavitha demanded that these posts be immediately allotted to members of underrepresented communities, citing demographic equity.
“The Congress government’s commitment to the 42% reservation for BCs is exposed by its actions,” Kavitha wrote, questioning the sincerity of its social justice promises.
