Three held in Miyapur MDMA seizure near Vishwambara Colony Park

Hyderabad: Police arrested three men in a Miyapur MDMA seizure after recovering 12.6 grams of the psychotropic substance near Vishwambara Colony Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The Miyapur Police acted on specific information received around 1 pm. The input suggested that three persons would assemble in a Volkswagen car near the park to consume and exchange MDMA.

Accordingly, a police team rushed to the location at about 2.50 pm. Officers identified the suspected vehicle parked near Vishwambara Colony Park.

However, the occupants tried to escape after noticing the police team. Police quickly intercepted the car and detained the three suspects.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a white crystalline substance inside a zip-lock cover placed in the dashboard. The material emitted a pungent smell. A field test conducted with a drug detection kit confirmed that the substance was MDMA.

Police later weighed the seized material. The total quantity measured 12.6 grams in the Miyapur MDMA seizure.

Arrests in Miyapur MDMA seizure

The arrested individuals were identified as Beri Hanumanthu (27), Bhumani Mahesh (26) and Kasam Adarsh (28).

During questioning, the accused admitted they had obtained the drug from a supplier in Bengaluru. They transported the contraband to Hyderabad for personal consumption and illegal sale for profit.

Police seized 12.6 grams of MDMA from the suspects. In addition, officers confiscated four mobile phones and the Volkswagen car used by the accused.

A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigators also began efforts to identify the supplier and trace other associates linked to the drug network behind the Miyapur MDMA seizure.

Investigation continues after Miyapur MDMA seizure

The operation took place under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kukatpally Zone, Cyberabad Police.

The Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, later appreciated the work of the Miyapur Police and the Madhapur Special Operations Team for their role in the Miyapur MDMA seizure.

Police also appealed to the public to stay away from narcotic substances. At the same time, they urged citizens to share credible information about drug trafficking.

Officials assured that the identity of informants would remain strictly confidential.
