Hyderabad: Telangana ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Lakshman Kumar on Saturday offered special prayers at the historic Bibi Ka Alam in Dabirpura as part of Muharram observances, reaffirming state support for the traditional event.
The ministers were joined by MLCs Amir Ali Khan and Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi, AIMIM MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj, Telangana State Waqf Board Chairman Azmathullah Hussaini, and senior minority community leaders.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, speaking on behalf of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, said the government had ensured all necessary arrangements for the occasion, including traffic regulation, security measures, and support for the congregation.
A ceremonial elephant, a longstanding feature of the centuries-old procession, was brought in as part of the rituals, maintaining the heritage and customs attached to Muharram in Hyderabad.
