Hyderabad: Ministers directed officials to accelerate Irrigation Projects in Mulugu district and ensure early water supply to farmers.
Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Seethakka and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held a review meeting with senior irrigation department officials on Wednesday. During the meeting, they examined the progress of major irrigation works in the district.
Officials briefed the ministers on project status, fund utilisation and hurdles affecting construction. They also explained steps being taken to address the delays.
Ministers push faster completion of Irrigation Projects
The government plans to complete major schemes on the Godavari river, including the Devadula lift irrigation project. Ministers asked officials to remove bottlenecks and speed up the works.
They said the State government aimed to complete these projects within the next two years. The Chief Minister had already given clear directions on this issue last month, they added.
Moreover, the ministers assured that the government would release the required funds without delay. They instructed officials to ensure irrigation benefits reach farmers at the earliest.
