Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy launched new Mallepally ITI courses at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Government ITI, Mallepally, on Monday as part of the Telangana Government’s 99-Day Praja Palana – Pragati Action Plan.
The minister introduced modern training programmes including CNC Machine Operation, Robotics, EV Technology and 2D & 3D Product Designing. He said the initiative aims to equip youth with industry-relevant skills and improve employment prospects.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is implementing the 99-day action plan to strengthen public services. According to him, several decisions taken under the programme are being rolled out in phases across departments.
He noted that industries have been raising concerns over the shortage of skilled manpower. Therefore, the government has decided to train students based on the skill requirements of industries.
The minister said Advanced Technology Centers and ITIs are playing a crucial role in preparing trained professionals for emerging industries. He added that possessing only one skill is no longer sufficient in the modern workforce.

Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said students must become multi-skilled to improve employment opportunities. He also advised principals to ensure that training systems are designed so that every student graduating from ATCs secures job opportunities.
He further announced that new training programmes related to agriculture and allied sectors will soon begin in rural areas in partnership with Tata Technologies. The Minister said productivity in India’s agriculture sector remains low compared to global standards, and skill development will help improve the sector.
The minister added that discussions have been held with industries in the Genome Valley region. As a result, courses required by those industries will soon be introduced.
Emphasising discipline, he urged students to stay focused and continue learning new skills. Curiosity and continuous learning, he said, are essential for success.
He also said students are being trained through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) to access overseas employment opportunities where salaries and career prospects are higher. Several ATC students have already secured jobs, and job fairs will be organised in districts in the future.
During the programme, the minister felicitated two young women, Aana Ankura and Kranthi Gopi, who secured Assistant Nurse positions in Germany after completing German language training through TOMCOM.
Both candidates cleared the B1 level certification and received their Germany work contracts from the minister. Each candidate will receive a monthly salary package of around ₹3 lakh.
