Minister Vakiti Srihari honours athletes at CM Cup 2026

Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports Vakiti Srihari felicitated medal-winning athletes during the second edition of CM Cup 2026.

The event recognised athletes associated with the National Masters Athletes Association who secured medals at international, national and state-level competitions. The Minister commended their achievements and dedication.

He said sportspersons aged from 30 years to above 70 years had brought laurels to India and Telangana through their performances. Their success, he added, reflected discipline and sustained commitment.

Addressing the gathering, Vakiti Srihari urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from the senior athletes. He said age should not deter individuals from pursuing excellence in sports.

The Minister noted that the medal winners had showcased Telangana’s sporting spirit on global and national platforms. Their achievements, he said, strengthened the State’s reputation in athletics.

He emphasised that the government would continue to encourage sports participation across age groups. According to him, initiatives like CM Cup 2026 would motivate more citizens to adopt active lifestyles.

The programme concluded with felicitation of athletes who excelled in various athletic events and represented the State with distinction.
