HYDERABAD: Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao held a review meeting on seed production at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Department Director B. Gopi and Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Aldas Janayya.
During the review, the participants discussed strategies to ensure the production of high-quality seeds in light of concerns over substandard and spurious seeds in the market.
Minister Tummala directed officials to focus on successful seed production directly in farmers’ fields at the grassroots level, emphasising the need for stringent monitoring and quality control to protect farmers’ interests.
