Hyderabad: Mehdipatnam police arrested an accused in a Mehdipatnam murder case after a worker died following an assault during a dispute at a juice centre in Tolichowki.
Police identified the accused as Mofil, a 22-year-old worker from Bihar. He worked as a chat master at a juice centre near Yousuf Tekri. The deceased, Gularez Alam, also from Bihar, worked as a helper at the same establishment.
According to police, the Mehdipatnam murder case stemmed from a minor argument between the two workers. During the altercation, the accused allegedly struck the victim multiple times on the head with a steel ladle.

As a result, the victim sustained severe head injuries and lost consciousness at the scene. Subsequently, the owner and co-workers shifted him to a private hospital for treatment.
However, Gularez Alam died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Doctors attributed the death to internal head injuries caused during the assault.
Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They took the accused into custody and produced him before a court on April 10.
Officials said the investigation proceeded under the supervision of senior officers from the Golconda Zone. Meanwhile, authorities continued further legal procedures in the case.
Senior police officials appreciated the Mehdipatnam police team for detecting the case quickly. They said officers involved in the investigation would receive suitable rewards.
