MCRHRD to sign MoU with Harvard University, says CM

Hyderabad: The MCRHRD MoU with Harvard University will be finalised soon to provide advanced public administration training to state officials, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday.

He said experts from the US-based university will visit the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute and train officers directly. The collaboration will strengthen administrative capacity in the state.

Addressing newly recruited Group 1 and Group 2 officers after they completed training at the institute, the Chief Minister urged them to serve people with dedication. He asked them to fulfil the aspirations of Telangana martyrs.

“You were students and unemployed before becoming officers. Now you are ready to serve four crore people. Do not forget your responsibility. Be good human beings and responsible officials,” he said.

He stated that officers act as the eyes and ears of the government. Therefore, they must deliver welfare schemes to beneficiaries efficiently. He also asked them to remember former civil servant S.R. Sankaran before assuming charge.

MCRHRD MoU and recruitment reforms highlighted

The Chief Minister criticised the previous BRS government for not conducting Group 1 recruitment during its ten-year tenure. However, he said the present government conducted Group 1 examinations and fulfilled long-pending aspirations.

He said the government reformed the TGPSC and appointed reputed persons as Chairman and members. Although the opposition approached courts soon after the results, the government defended the process and filled the posts.

According to him, the Commission conducted the examinations without paper leaks. Out of six lakh candidates, 582 secured Group 1 posts while 1,775 secured Group 2 jobs.

Referring to Telangana history, he said people of the state may tolerate hunger but will not accept domination. He recalled that leaders such as Komaram Bheem and Ranji Gondu fought oppression rather than kingdoms. Sammakka and Saralamma also resisted injustice, he added.

The Chief Minister said Ravi Narayana Reddy from Telangana won the first parliamentary election in the country with a huge majority.

He further announced that the government will introduce a law in the Assembly to cut 10 to 15 per cent salary of employees who neglect their parents.
