Hyderabad: The Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad, held its 107th Convocation on Thursday, awarding B.Tech degrees to 20 officers from Technical Entry Scheme Course-43.
The ceremony took place at the MCEME Auditorium in Trimulgherry, with Professor Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, attending as Chief Guest. In his address, Professor Rai stressed the importance of ethical leadership and intellectual agility across military and civilian domains. He urged the graduating officers to lead with courage, wisdom, and adaptability, while acknowledging the Armed Forces’ operational response in Op Sindoor.
Lt D Subhash was named Best All-Round Student Officer and received the DGEME Gold Medal and GOC-in-C ARTRAC Trophy. Lt Abhinav Nair and Lt Adarsh Kumar Singh received the Commandant’s Silver Medal for topping the Mechanical and Electronics streams, respectively.
Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of MCEME, commended the officers’ dedication and highlighted the increasing role of advanced technologies like AI, robotics, drones, and unmanned systems in modern warfare. He underlined that the technical training at MCEME prepares officers to meet contemporary operational demands.
A display of innovative projects by the officers followed the ceremony, demonstrating MCEME’s focus on applied research and technological innovation for defence applications.
