Hyderabad: A massive Fire Accident in Bachupally on Tuesday night gutted 18 furniture shops along the Bachupally–Miyapur main road and caused an estimated loss of Rs 5 crore.
The blaze broke out around 10.45 pm in a furniture outlet located between KGR Convention Centre and the Sai Nagar road junction. Soon after, thick smoke engulfed the entire stretch as flames spread rapidly.
Preliminary information suggested that a short circuit triggered the Fire Accident in one of the shops. Since the outlets stored large quantities of wood, sofas and household furniture, the fire spread swiftly to 17 adjacent shops.
As a result, flames reduced 18 shops to ashes within minutes. Traders said they had stocked goods worth lakhs of rupees in the affected establishments, and consequently suffered heavy losses.

Immediately after receiving information, fire department personnel rushed to the spot with multiple fire tenders. They battled the flames for several hours and eventually brought the Fire Accident under control.
Fortunately, no one lost their life in the incident. However, traders said they lost business stock accumulated over several years.
