MANUU admissions 2026 announced with outreach programmes

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) announced admissions for 2026, opening applications for 125 courses and setting deadlines for both entrance-based and merit-based admissions.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University, established in 1998 through an Act of Parliament, operates its headquarters in Hyderabad. The 200-acre campus currently serves around 50,000 students, including about 5,000 enrolled in regular programmes and nearly 45,000 pursuing distance and online education.

The university offers 131 programmes across certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Over 29 years, it has produced graduates who secured employment in India and abroad.

MANUU admissions 2026 focus on outreach and local student enrolment

The university highlighted the achievements of 18 alumni through its annual calendar, showcasing their professional success across sectors and countries. Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan initiated outreach measures to increase local student participation.

In August 2025, the university launched a structured awareness campaign in collaboration with alumni. Under this initiative, officials organised campus visits for school and college students across Hyderabad. Over seven months, the programme facilitated visits for around 3,500 students and introduced them to available courses and infrastructure.

The university also planned to utilise Urdu Hall in Himayatnagar to strengthen engagement with local communities. As part of this effort, it will introduce a certificate course in fashion technology in the 2026–27 academic year.

To encourage local enrolment, the Vice-Chancellor introduced a 10% supernumerary quota for Hyderabad-based students across all courses. Officials said this measure would improve accessibility while reducing dependence on hostel facilities.

Applications for entrance-based admissions will close on April 27, while merit-based admissions will remain open until June 10. Candidates can access the prospectus and application forms through the official university website.
