Singer Mangli fraud case registered after advocate complaint

Hyderabad: Police registered a Mangli fraud case after an advocate alleged that the singer defrauded him of ₹10 crore in connection with a microfinance scheme. Officials said the Mangli fraud case followed a complaint lodged at Punjagutta Police Station.

According to police, advocate Subba Rao alleged that Mangli cheated him through fraudulent activities linked to the scheme. He also expressed concerns over his safety in the complaint.

Mangli fraud case registered after complaint

Based on the complaint, police registered a case against Mangli and three other individuals under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita. Officers said they had initiated an investigation into the allegations.

Officials said the complainant accused the singer of swindling ₹10 crore. They added that further inquiry would examine the details of the financial transactions involved.

Mangli fraud case sees counter-complaint

Meanwhile, Mangli denied the allegations and filed a separate complaint at Narsingi Police Station prior to the advocate’s complaint. She said she had approached the police independently.

The singer alleged that some individuals were attempting to damage her reputation. She also denied any connection to viral images showing large amounts of cash.

“That money is not mine, and I have no involvement in that matter,” she said, expressing concern over the situation.

Police said they would examine both complaints as part of the ongoing investigation.
