HYDERABAD, February 11: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy Tuesday to discuss issues related to Scheduled Caste (SC) categorisation and reservation policies. The meeting, held at Pragathi Bhavan, focused on long-pending demands for equitable distribution of SC reservations.
During the discussion, Manda Krishna emphasised the need for immediate action on SC categorisation, stating that justice for marginalised sections within the SC community had been delayed for too long. He urged the government to take proactive steps to ensure fair representation and social justice.
Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, Damodar Rajanarsimha, along with other leaders from the Madiga community, accompanied Manda Krishna in the meeting. They reiterated their demand for the state government to pass a resolution in the Assembly supporting SC categorisation and to recommend the matter to the Centre for approval.
CM Revanth Reddy acknowledged the concerns raised by Manda Krishna and assured that his government would examine the issue in detail. He further stated that a comprehensive approach would be taken to address the demands of all SC communities in Telangana.
Following the meeting, Manda Krishna expressed optimism but insisted that the government must act swiftly to implement their demands. “This is a matter of justice, and we will continue to fight until a fair solution is reached,” he said.
The discussions are expected to continue, with MRPS leaders pushing for concrete commitments from the Telangana government in the coming months.
