Hyderabad: A 21-year-old woman was killed by her husband in Neradigonda mandal of Adilabad district late Wednesday following a domestic quarrel.
The victim, identified as Sujatha from Daribithanda, was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, Nataraj, in a fit of rage. The couple had reportedly argued earlier in the evening. Police suspect the killing took place during the confrontation.
Relatives of the deceased staged a protest on Thursday morning by blocking the national highway. The situation turned tense after the protesters clashed with police personnel deployed at the site.
Sujatha is survived by a son and a daughter. Additional Superintendent of Police Kajalsingh visited the spot and spoke to the family members.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full sequence of events.
