Hyderabad: Afzalgunj police on Monday arrested a man accused of defrauding people by offering gold at below-market prices.
The accused, identified as Jai Kumar, is part of an interstate gang that allegedly cheated several victims on the pretext of selling gold at reduced rates.
According to police, the gang took ₹40 lakh from victims and disappeared.
Following complaints, police registered a case and apprehended Jai Kumar, recovering the full amount.
Efforts are on to trace the two other accused, identified as Uday and Sandeep.
