Hyderabad: A 21-year-old man was arrested in Gajularamaram after allegedly stalking a woman for two years and attempting to attack her with a knife at her workplace.
The accused, Vinay, reportedly followed the woman to a supermarket where she had taken up employment after relocating to Hyderabad to escape his repeated harassment.
According to police, Vinay bought a knife from the same supermarket and waited for her to emerge, intending to confront or harm her. The woman noticed his presence and alerted her parents from a store room.
Family members rushed to the scene, and with the help of store staff, apprehended Vinay and beat him up before handing him over to the Jeedimetla police.
The woman’s family alleged that Vinay had been harassing her persistently for two years and posed a serious threat to her safety.
Police seized the knife and booked a case under relevant sections. Vinay remains in custody.
