Malkajgiri EOW office inaugurated at Neredmet police quarters

Hyderabad: The Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, inaugurated the Malkajgiri EOW office at the Police Quarters in Neredmet by making a General Diary entry, formally starting its operations.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police Station began functioning at the new location to handle major financial crime cases. Officials said the unit will focus on serious offences involving large-scale fraud and financial misconduct.

The Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, launched the station’s operations. Soon after, authorities assigned DCP Road Safety K. Manohar to supervise the EOW Police Station.

He will oversee operations along with two Assistant Commissioners of Police, P. Sathaiah and C. Anjaiah. In addition, three Inspectors—K. Bhaskar, A. Surya Nayak, and K. Ravi Kumar—will manage investigations and daily operations.

Malkajgiri EOW office to handle high-value fraud cases

Officials said the Malkajgiri EOW office will register cases involving financial fraud exceeding ₹2 crore. These include offences such as cheating, criminal breach of trust, and fabrication of documents.

Moreover, the unit will take up cases under the Telangana State Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act, 1999, as amended in 2023. These cases will involve financial irregularities above ₹1 crore.

In addition, authorities said the EOW Police Station will handle any cases assigned by the Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri. Therefore, the unit is expected to play a key role in tackling organised financial crimes in the region.

Malkajgiri EOW office set to strengthen financial crime enforcement

The Malkajgiri EOW office aims to improve investigation and enforcement against economic offences. Officials said the dedicated unit will ensure focused handling of complex financial cases.

Furthermore, senior officers will provide structured supervision to improve coordination and efficiency. The police said the new facility will streamline case registration and investigation processes.

Meanwhile, authorities indicated that the EOW unit will operate as a specialised wing to address rising financial fraud complaints. As a result, the Malkajgiri EOW office will serve as a central point for handling major economic offences in the commissionerate.
