Madhura Nagar consultancy murder accused arrested within 24 hours

Hyderabad: Police arrested the accused in the Madhura Nagar consultancy murder within 24 hours after a job consultancy owner was stabbed to death in Hyderabad on March 10.

According to police, Dulipadu Akshaya alias Sai Shruthi (23), an HR executive at Best Group of Services Job Consultancy in Engineers Colony, lodged a complaint following the attack. At about 2.10 pm, an unidentified young man aged around 20 to 25 years visited the office and complained about dissatisfaction with a job arranged through the consultancy.

The visitor demanded repayment of the amount he had paid and also asked for salary for the days he had worked. Therefore, the complainant seated him in a counselling room and informed consultancy owner Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy (35).

While the owner spoke with the visitor, staff heard loud noises from inside the room. Shortly after, at about 2.25 pm, the man emerged holding a knife. He then stabbed the complainant on her left shoulder.

The injured employee ran outside the office for safety. Meanwhile, the attacker fled from the scene.

After the accused escaped, office staff entered the counselling room. Inside, they found Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.

Police said the victim had sustained 23 stab injuries. Staff immediately shifted him to Astro Prime Hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead.

Police registered a case in Crime No. 184/2026 at Madhura Nagar Police Station. The case included offences under Sections 103(1), 109, 329(4), 127(2), 351(2) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Investigators then began technical analysis and field inquiries to trace the suspect involved in the Madhura Nagar consultancy murder.

Madhura Nagar consultancy murder accused arrested near Ramoji Film City

Police later apprehended the accused identified as Pollamari Setty Prabhu Kumar alias Shanu (19), a private employee. Officers caught him near Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

During the arrest, police seized the knife used in the Madhura Nagar consultancy murder. They also recovered an iPhone-15 and four stolen mobile phones from his possession.

The accused is the son of P. Rajender Prasad. He was temporarily residing in U.K. Guda near Ramoji Film City. However, his native address is H. No. 3-36 in Ganaparthy village of Munagapaka mandal in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

Police produced the accused before the court on March 12, 2026 for judicial remand.

Inspector H. Prabhakar of Madhura Nagar Police Station is leading the investigation. The officer acted with the Detective Inspector and staff during the operation. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Venkat Reddy of Banjara Hills Division supervised the investigation under the Jubilee Hills Zone of Hyderabad City Police.
